Day 1: Arrival in Chennai

Upon arrival at Chennai Airport, Rover Holidays representative will receive you with warm welcome and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and relax. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 2: Chennai

After breakfast at the hotel embark on sightseeing tour in Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu state. Major attractions include Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Parthasarathy Temple, Government Museum, Ripon Building, Victoria Public Hall, National Art Gallery, and Marina Beach. Marina Beach is the second largest urban beach in the world. There are several historical monuments and memorials at and around the beach. On time get back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Kanchipuram, a holy and historic city of Tamil Nadu known for temples, monuments, and silk. Visit the Kailasanathar Temple, the oldest temple in Kanchi. Later proceed to see other temples and monuments such as Kamakshi Amman Temple, Kumarakottam Temple, Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Ekambareswarar Temple, Muktheeswarar Temple, Thiru Parameswara Vinnagaram (also called Vaikunta Perumal Temple), and Thiruparthikundram Jain Temple. There are many more architecturally beautiful and religiously important temples in Kanchipuram which attract the visitors and pilgrims. You may buy hand woven silk sarees from local markets of Kanchipuram as the town is a traditional center of silk weaving and handloom industries for producing world famous Kanchipuram sarees. Later, drive to Mahabalipuram, a historical beach town Tamil Nadu, known for the group of monuments, UNESCO World Heritage Monuments. On reaching Mahabalipuram check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Mahabalipuram

Take delicious and delightful breakfast at the hotel. Then embark on sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram, also called Mamallapuram. The town is known for group of rock-cut cave sanctuaries and temples built during the period of 7th century and 8th century. Main attraction include Rathas (temples in the form of chariots), Krishna Cave Temple (Krishna Mandapam), Mahishasuramardini Cave Temple, Varaha Cave Temple, Trimurti Cave Temple, Kotikal Cave Temple, Tiger Cave Temple, Atiranachanda Cave Temple, Panchapandava Cave Temple, Descent of the Ganges (Arjuna's Penance), and the most famous Shore Temple. These all temples and monuments are parts of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram, declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later in the evening relax at the beach and see the wonderful view of sunset over the sea. On time get back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Mahabalipuram - Departure from Chennai

Check out form the hotel in Mahabalipuram and leave for Chennai. Enjoy last minute shopping at bazaars and markets of the city. On time get assisted transfer to the Chennai Airport by Rover Holidays representative. Board flight for your onward journey. Tour ends.
