Tiger Safari in North India – Day Wise Itinerary

11 Nights & 12 Days (Delhi - Jim Corbett National Park - Delhi - Sariska Tiger Reserve & National Park - Ranthambore National Park - Agra - Delhi)

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

Upon arrival at New Delhi International Airport, a representative from Rover Holiday will receive you with warm welcome and transfer you to the hotel. He will assist you complete all the check-in formalities. Freshen up and relax. Later proceed for Delhi sightseeing tour covering key attractions like Red Fort (Lal Quila), Jama Masjid, Rajghat, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Birla Temple, India Gate War Memorial, President House, Parliament House, and Lotus Temple. On time get back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi - Corbett

Take breakfast at the hotel with tea/coffee and cookies. Check out from the hotel and then drive towards the Jim Corbett National Park, the first tiger safari destination of your itinerary, which is situated in the foothills of the Great Himalayas in the state of Uttarakhand. On arrival at Corbett, check in at the hotel/resort. Freshen up and relax. Spend some time unwinding yourself in the beautiful wild surroundings, and enjoy the exceptional beauty of nature. In the evening take a nature walk to explore riverside rich flora and fauna of the Corbett. On time get back to hotel/resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Jim Corbett National Park

Have very hearty breakfast enjoying your tea/coffee at the hotel/resort. Get ready for morning thrilling tiger safari by jeep in the famous Jim Corbett National Park, the oldest or first national parks in India.

Established in 1369 as Hailey National Park to protect the endangered royal Bengal tigers, this national park was the first to come under the Project Tiger initiative. Comprising of hills, riverine belts, grasslands, marshy depressions and a large lake, spreading in an area of approx. 521 square kilometer, the park provides a wonderful opportunity for ecotourism, wildlife tourism, nature tourism and tiger safari in India. The park is home to extremely rich biodiversity, and known for its rich flora and fauna.

It is home to several animals like Bengal tigers, leopards, elephants, buffalos, leopard cats, fishing cats, jungle cats, chital (spotted deer), hog deer, barking deer, sambar deer, sloth bears, Himalayan black bears, Indian langurs, Indian pangolins, Indian grey mongooses, otters, Himalayan gorals, yellow-throated martens, and rhesus macaques. Although the national park has plentiful Bengal tigers, but they cannot be easily spotted due to the abundance of foliage - camouflage - in the reserve. Leopards can be spotted in the hilly areas and low land jungles. Herds of elephants in several hundred can be seen in the jungle in summer.

The park is also a great site for birding. It is home to more than 586 species of resident and migratory birds. Owls and nightjars can be heard in the night. It is also home a wide variety of reptiles, trees and plants.

After the tiger safari in the jungle of Jim Corbett National Park & Tiger Reserve, get back to the hotel/resort. Spend remaining day at leisure activities on you own. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel/resort.

Day 4: Jim Corbett National Park

Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel/resort. Enjoy tiger safari in the park and explore other attractions visiting Corbett Falls, Garjiya Devi Temple, and Kalagarh Dam. Visit Dhikala and enjoy the spectacular natural beauty of the valley. Then enjoy exciting treks around the park in the company of a guide of Rover Holidays. On time get back to the hotel/resort for dinner and schedule overnight stay.

Day 5: Corbett - Delhi

Take very hearty breakfast along with tea/coffee and then check out form the hotel/resort. Say goodbye to Corbett and drive towards Delhi. Check in the hotel upon arrival in Delhi. Freshen up and relax. Spend rest of the day at leisure or enjoying your own individual activities. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 6: Delhi - Sariska

Take very hearty breakfast and then check out from the hotel in Delhi. Drive towards Sariska Tiger Reserve & National Park, located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan state.

Sariska Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan is one of the most popular destination for wildlife tourism and tiger safari in India. It is home to rich flora and fauna. Major animals can be spotted here Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, leopard cats, jungle cats, Indian jackals, wild boars, Hanuman langurs, rhesus monkeys, four-horned antelopes, spotted deer (chital), sambar deer, striped hyenas, caracals, and hares. Sariska is also known for a haven for the rarest feathered bird species like sandgrouse, golden-backed woodpeckers, crested serpent eagles, Indian eagle-owls, bush quails, Indian peafowls, white-throated kingfishers, and grey partridge. Sariska Palace and Pandupol Hanumanji Temple also great attractions for the tourists.
