What Are Kerala Backwaters?

Kerala’s backwaters are a unique network of interconnected canals, lakes, rivers, and lagoons that run parallel to the Arabian Sea. This ecosystem is enriched by a delicate mix of freshwater and seawater, creating a thriving habitat for diverse flora and fauna.

But what truly makes the backwaters special is not just the landscape, but it’s the lifestyle. Villages thrive along these waterways, where people commute by boats, do fishing using traditional techniques, and cultivate rice in fields below sea level.

Kerala is known for its tranquil backwaters and iconic houseboat cruises. Everyone must visit this place once in their life to experience the magic of Kerala’s natural beauty. If you are planning to be in a secluded place with your spouse or family, Kerala is the best place to be. With Rover Holidays, you can plan a family trip or a romantic trip by booking our Kerala backwaters tour package.

Why Kerala’s Backwaters are A Must-Visit Destination

The Kerala backwater tour package includes a houseboat cruise that gives you a unique experience. Along with that, several other specialties make it a must-visit destination:

Scenic Natural Beauty

If you are a nature lover, you would love to explore Kerala’s backwaters.
